Carou is a Brazilian tattoo artist with thirteen years behind her. She moved to the UK in 2019 and has kept growing ever since, as an artist and as a person. These days she splits her time between two London studios: Santo Cuervo near Hackney Central, and Sacred Gold in King's Cross.
Her work is blackwork, made from stippling, texture, and organic shapes. She designs around the body it sits on, and she likes to do it with you rather than at you, so the piece ends up feeling like yours.
Away from tattooing she paints, draws, and sculpts. She also started The Lonely Heart Club, built around Clamson: a broken heart who turns up as a Sheriff, a Sugar Skull, and plenty of other things. He's about resilience and transformation, and you can get him tattooed or take him home as wall art.

These designs have been a joy to collaborate over. She is an incredibly talented individual who elevates the art form whilst also making the environment comfortable and relaxed.
