Carou is a Brazilian-born tattoo artist working out of Santo Cuervo in Hackney Central. She moved to London in 2019 after a decade of tattooing in São Paulo, and her work draws on a parallel practice in sculpture, painting, and drawing.
Pieces are built around the body they live on, designed in conversation with the person wearing them. Most sessions start with references and a long talk; the final piece arrives only when both of you agree it does.
Outside the studio she runs The Lonely Heart Club, a project centred on Clamson — a broken-heart character about resilience that appears across her tattoos, prints, and wall pieces.
